Hammer Mill

Hammer Mill, also called HM series coarse powder mill, is a kind of new high efficient grinding equipment. This mill is mainly used for producing coarse powder and small scale sand making. The output size can reach more than 90% of 0 to 3mm.

Working Principle

The Hammer Mill mainly consists of main part shell, rotor, hammer and grid section etc.

The main body drives the main shaft through the motor and the V-belt, making the rotor rotates. Then the hammer spread around by the centrifugal force produced by the rotating. The bulk materials enter the crushing cavity and then crushed by the high-speed hammer. The crushed materials with required sizes will be discharged from the grid section while the others will be remained in the cavity for regrinding until they reach to the required sizes. To avoid the blocking of the grid section, the moisture content of the material should be lower than 5%.

How To Reduce The Damage Of The Hammer And The Grid Section

In the Hammer Mill, hammer and the grid section are the most important wearing parts. Once damaged, it will need a long time to check and maintain. So how can we reduce the damage of the hammer and the grid section?

Firstly, avoid grinding materials that moisture content above 10%. Because when crushing wet materials, it will be easily block the chink of the grind section which might lead to the halt of the machine; secondly, the operator should check the machine frequently, once find something unusual, you should stop the machine and check it immediately; thirdly, avoid the entering of steel or other foreign bodies.
